About Us

The Photoresponsive Molecular Tools Research Group led by Márton Bojtár is a subgroup of the Chemical Biology Research Group (Kele Lab) at the HUN-REN Research Centre for Natural Sciences in Budapest, Hungary.

The main focus of our research is the development of small molecules capable of various functions, mostly in biological systems by the action of light irradiation.

  •     Synthesis of new photocages and other photoresponsive small molecules
  •     Chemical biology with light as a trigger
  •     Photoactivated drugs
  •     Combination of light & bioorthogonal chemistry
